Computer Recycling
Recycling unwanted computer equipment keeps potentially toxic materials out of the landfills to protect the environment. As we upgrade and replace your current equipment and implement new technology, please join TronixSystem in our efforts to properly dispose of your old equipment. We work with experts to make certain your unwanted technology is disposed of in a secure, environmentally conscious way that is in compliance with local regulatory guidelines.
The benefits of recycling with TronixSystem:
- Data Security We use a company which specializes in computer hardware recycling who resells or donates old parts and completely destroys old hard disks using a metal shredder. We can protect or erase sensitive data before your equipment is recycled.
- Regulatory Compliance We receive a certificate of secure destruction for compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory agencies.
- Convenience Clients can drop off equipment, send it to us, or ask our techs to take it back to our office at no charge
- Added service to our customers We label the equipment with the client’s company name, end-user name, and pick-up date so that we can locate the unit if the client needs the computer back before it is destroyed. We’ve even designated a corner of our storage area to be a secure holding area for equipment waiting for our regular recycling pickup.
- Protect the environment Keep your computer equipment out of the landfills. The poisons inside a PC are a threat to our health and the environment.
- Housekeeping Unused electronics can consume precious space in your office. Recycling lets you clear out what you don’t need by donating it or disposing of it responsibly.
- It’s the law Businesses are prohibited under NYS law from discarding used electronics and must utilize electronic equipment recyclers for proper disposal.
In addition to providing a way for our clients to dispose of their unwanted computer equipment through this collection service, we might also be able to extend the useful life of another client’s equipment. We’ll save any valuable parts and servers and make them available free to our clients (after wiping all data beyond recovery) as spare parts or loaner equipment. This could help extend the useful life of an old server pending replacement.
With the exception of rechargeable batteries, it is still legal for NYC residents (homes) to discard electronics in the trash until the year 2015. There are a number of recycling programs hosted by electronics retailers and community service organizations. Please consider using these recycling programs for your home electronics. Also, refer to the EPA website for other recycling options.
We dedicate the extra time required to provide this service because of our commitment to providing excellent customer service and our commitment to being socially responsible.
